After Only 60 Days of Operation, This Inclusive, Special-Needs Café in Cedars Is a Great Success

By

The So Much to Give Inclusive Café opened in Cedars in Jan. 2023 with an intriguing business model. The food-service establishment was purposefully designed to accommodate a staff of special-needs employees in a setting of comfort for all patrons. As Todd Haas reported for 6abc, it’s succeeding on both fronts.

Cofounder Kathy Opperman described the restaurant’s operational philosophy: “The inclusive café was started because we saw a need to have more programs of light and love for those with disabilities.”

She called the outcome “the most rewarding project I’ve ever done.”

Tyler Kammerle, another cofounder, claimed, “It’s a dream come true. I honestly look forward to coming to work every day.

“The most consistent thing is to put out good food, try to learn and grow together, and just make sure that the people who come in feel the love we’re trying to put out and get integrated into the purpose and mission of this whole thing.”

Opperman concluded by what she considers to be the biggest draw of her business: “The most rewarding thing about the café is just walking through the door and feeling the joy,” she concluded.
