Montgomery County Commissioner Announces New Director of Health and Human Service
Dr. Tamra Williams has been appointed Montgomery County’s Director of Health and Human Service. MediaNews Group carried the details.
Montgomery County Board of Commissioners Chair Ken Lawrence made the announcement.
“I am pleased to welcome Dr. Williams to the county, and I look forward to working with her to oversee programs and services helping some of our most vulnerable residents,” he said. “Her practical training and experience have already been a valuable asset to our senior leadership team.”
Williams served as chief clinical officer for Community Behavioral Health, a Philadelphia managed care organization.
Her new role will have her overseeing county offices of:
- Public health
- Children and youth
- Drug and alcohol
- Veterans’ affairs
- Senior services
- Manage care solutions
- Housing and community development
- Mental health
- Developmental disabilities
- Early intervention
- Community connection
- Strategy management
Williams obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of South Florida, with a minor in public health policy and management.
She completed her pre-doctoral training at Yale University’s School of Medicine, department of psychiatry, and post-doctoral training in its division of law and psychiatry.
Williams said looks forward to serving the residents of Montgomery County and helping others to live safe, healthy, and connected lives.
