Pa.’s Fourth Congressional District Makes Forbes Ranking for Key Household Metric in Montco

Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District, which encompasses the majority of Montgomery County, is one of the wealthiest in the nation, writes Andrew DePietro for Forbes.

Forbes recently analyzed all of the congressional districts that comprise the 116th Congress that started in January 2021 and will run until January 2023 to determine which have the highest median household incomes.

Overall, the analysis found that 40 congressional districts have median household incomes of over $100,000.

Among them, Pa.’s fourth congressional district, which has been represented by Madeleine Dean since 2013, ranked No. 36.

The district has 295,800 total households, a household median income of $102,059, and a household mean income of $134,808.

The percentage of households with incomes of $200,000 or more is 18.4. The district has 13.3 percent of households with incomes of $150,000–$199,999, and 19.3 percent of households with incomes of $100,000–$149,999.

Meanwhile, the percentage of households with incomes of $75,000–$99,999 is 12.4 percent, and the percent of households with incomes of $50,000–$74,999 is 13.1 percent.

On the lower end of the spectrum, the district has 3.9 percent of households with incomes of less than $10,000.
