About 25 teenagers collectively representing Pottstown High School and The Hill School have worked together under the Pottstown CARES student club umbrella to organize a concert for Feb. 17, 7–9 PM at the high school.

The event — the fifth of its kind — will again benefit Your Way Home Montgomery County, an organization that works to help homeless individuals attain permanent housing.

As noted in the students’ post on the Eventbrite site, “Helping our community does not have to be a difficult task: All it takes are selfless acts and moments of consideration.”

Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults if purchased in advance ($10 at the door).

Tickets may be purchased at Eventbrite.

Doors will open at 6:30 PM; all ages are welcomed to this community event.

The site also accepts donations for Your Way Home for those who cannot attend the concert but would like nonetheless to support the students’ altruistic efforts and help those in need.

The musical artists, all from the Pottstown area, are donating their time and talents.

The lineup includes David Charles, Milen, and Oats Official featuring Denise Jade Jean.

Refreshments will be available through the generosity of local businesses and individual donors.

Pottstown CARES students again selected Your Way Home as the beneficiary of their effort because they established a positive relationship with the organization through previous concerts.

CARES, founded through a collaborative Hill–Pottstown initiative in the spring of 2013, stands for Community, Awareness, Responsibility, Empowerment, and Sustainability.

Since fall of 2022, its current group members:

  • Participated in the Nov. Hobart’s Run by the River
  • Helped Hobart’s Run to host a holiday party for children at the Richard J. Ricketts Community Center, an afternoon program provider for Pottstown youth
  • Enjoyed a “speed friending” social event to get to know each other better
