Mac & Cheese & Hope: Montgomery County Chick-fil-A Locations Help New Jersey Fifth Grader
Two Montgomery County Chick-fil-A locations helped raise more than $24,000 to aid Molly Foley, a Delanco, New Jersey, fifth grader. Northeast Times served up the details on the fundraiser: Mac & Cheese for Molly.
The regional effort, which also included Chick-fil-A sites in Bucks and Philadelphia counties, had participating restaurants donate 35 cents of the cost of every purchased serving of mac and cheese for a month.
The campaign was initiated to aid Foley in her struggle with Rett Syndrome.
The exceptionally rare neurological disorder primarily affects females. It impairs language and coordination, repetitive movements, walking, and growth rates. Patients often experience seizures, scoliosis (curvature of the spine), and difficulty sleeping.
A neighborhood connection linked the Foley family with Robert Fanelli, owner of several Chick-fil-A sites.
Fanelli quickly agreed to participate and spread the word about the effort to his colleagues across the region. The two participating Montgomery County stores were in Cheltenham and Horsham.
“We’re so appreciative of Chick-fil-A and their support,” said Molly’s mother, Danielle.
“A cure is closer than ever because of your work, your example, your courage, and your persistence to obstacles thrown your way,” Fanelli told Molly during the check presentation.
“The work you and your family are doing will enrich eternity.”
