In the light of Hanukkah candles, the Christmas yule log, and Diwali fireworks, the winter holidays shine even brighter with seasonal drinks from Montco.

The county’s array of inventive breweries, wineries, and distilleries bringing back old favorites and releasing new ones, all while offering cocktail workshops, food-truck festivals, and music.

All five of these recommendations have specialty drinks with the flavors of the season, including candy cane, cranberry, caramel, cinnamon, hot chocolate, ginger, pine, and pumpkin.

Boardroom Spirits, Lansdale

Boardroom Spirits‘ Nocino is a black walnut liqueur from the owners’ Hungarian family recipe. For those looking to leave the mixology to the pros, Boardroom also offers four-packs of Moscow mules and flavorful cranberry vodka.

Boyd’s Cardinal Hollow Winery, Lansdale

Specialty vintages from Boyd’s Cardinal Hollow include cranberry wine, raspberry mead, and roasted red pepper/garlic wine. They’re not only good for sipping, they bring a zesty different flavor to holiday cooking as well. The cranberry wine, for example, changes the flavor profile of an ordinary pan of sausages into something gourmet.

Conshohocken Brewing Company

The star at the top of the beverage tree at Conshohocken Brewing Company is its array of winter holiday beers. You Can’t Catch Me is a gingerbread ale, brewed with sugar, spice (and everything nice), and gingersnap cookies. The 2-Hour Delay Hazy Winter IP has hints of citrus, coconut, and pine.

Five Saints Distilling, Norristown

Tis the season to try a Poinsettia: Five Saints‘ handcrafted vodka, Manatawny Creek Winery‘s white sparkling wine, cranberry juice, and triple sec. Holiday options for rounds after that include the Candy Cane Martini, North Pole Nog, and the Mistletoe Kiss.

Five Saints makes its alcohol from corn and rye grown in Elverson, PA, and they’re happy to show you how in-person of in their virtual tasting tours.

Manatawny Still Works, Pottstown

This producer’s three small-batch powerhouses — Four Grain Whiskey, Batch Rum 10, and Four Grain American Whiskey — can liven up any Yuletide toast. The Batch Rum 10 is the perfect addition to holiday eggnog.

Well Crafted Beer Company, Lansdale, Ambler

Well Crafted Beer lives up to its name with new releases each week on tap and to go. Savor the remainder of fall with an imperial pumpkin ale called Punch in the Pumpkin or get ready for a trek through the snowy woods with Gone Squatchin’, a sweet and invigorating brew made with alder-smoked malt.

More on Montgomery County’s vast brewery-distillery-winery outlook for seasonal drinks is at the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board.
