The ice cream chain plans on expanding operations in and around the area.

One of Bucks County’s most popular ice cream chains, Owocow Creamery, is planning on expanding and opening new locations for its hungry clientele. Jennifer Sheehan wrote about the popular chain for The Morning Call.

Owocow — which has locations in Wrightstown, Ottsville, Chalfont (near Colmar, Montgomery County), and Lambertville — has been working on opening new locations inside and outside the Bucks County area. With another site in Easton, the ice creamery is planning on becoming a staple of the communities it inhabits.

“We are looking to expand our business in a way we never have before,” said Shira Tizer Wade, Owowcow’s managing director. “And we are wanting to address a significant problem in our community.”

The issue to which Wade referred is food insecurity; the ice cream producer’s corporate leaders prefer to partner with local ag businesses that are amenable to its business model, which funds community food outreaches.

Another part of future plans is to team up with retailers and sell culinary confections by the tub. This will allow longtime fans and newcomers to enjoy Owowcow from the comfort of their homes.
