Locally Invented Motorized Wagon Lets Shore-Goers Smartly Depart from the Hand-Pushed Cart
Beach goers — at the Jersey Shore or elsewhere — now have a more convenient transport from their vacation accommodations to the surf and sand, replacing those hand-pushed carts and their human-powered movement. The e-Beach Wagon, invented by a Delco resident, more easily does the heavy lifting when toting belongings to/from the beach, writes Greta Phillips for 6abc.
Mike Mogan got the idea for the e-Beach Wagon because he wanted his family beach time with his wife and two young children to be less stressful.
e-Beach Wagon’s electric motor lets it travel at six miles per hour and it can carry up to 300 pounds. It moves over the sand on the low-pressure balloon tires found on other models, without the Herculean effort to roll it.
Removable railings make loading and unloading easy.
The conveniences go beyond its power. The unit features dual USB ports and handy storage tubes for umbrellas, flagpoles, or fishing rods.
When away from the shore, the e-Beach Wagon can also be used for yard work, transporting children around the neighborhood, and other household tasks.
Mogan inherited his inventing abilities from his father and grew up tinkering around home.
Now he’s an engineer, on a mission to make life a little easier.
“Work smarter, not harder. I love to think about new ideas and invent things,” says Mogan.
