Bucks County Woman One of Heroes from Flight 305 That Was Hijacked 51 Years Ago by D.B. Cooper
Bucks County’s Tina Mucklow is one of the heroes that helped prevent a catastrophe on November 24, 1971, when the plane she was working on as a stewardess was hijacked by now infamous D.B. Cooper, writes Diksha Sundriyal for The Cinemaholic.
Twenty-two-year-old Mucklow was the newest hire on Flight 305 which later became famous for being hijacked by a man who disappeared mid-flight and was never found.
She was first alarmed when she noticed her colleague, Florence Schaffner, take a seat next to a passenger. She picked up a piece of paper Schaffner had dropped that mentioned the presence of a bomb and immediately notified the pilots.
When Cooper sent Schaffner to the cockpit, he asked Mucklow to sit next to him. She became his point person, relaying his messages and even opening the rear door through which he exited the plane midflight.
After the incident, which is the subject of Netflix’s D.B. Cooper: Where Are You?!, she refused to be defined by it and was back to work within a month. Today, Mucklow dedicates her days to helping people and still wishes the FBI had succeeded in solving the case.
