North Penn School District Celebrates Career of Retiring Superintendent with Farewell Parade

By

Last week, the North Penn School District community organized a farewell tour to celebrate the impactful career of retiring superintendent Dr. Curtis Dietrich, writes Corey Davis for 6abc.

Dietrich rode around the community throughout the morning in a 1966 Mustang convertible as students, teachers, and administrators bid him farewell.

“It is exciting,” he said. “You put your life into a career. I’ve just been really blessed to be with all the people at North Penn.”

And while he will officially retire at the end of June, everybody had already been talking about his achievements from the moment he announced his retirement earlier this year.

“There are many things that I admire and appreciate about him,” said North Penn School District employee Pam Hart. “The thing I appreciate the most is his relationship with staff and families.”

Dietrich spent more than four decades in various educational roles. The final 12 years he spent as North Penn’s superintendent making his tenure the longest for a superintendent of the district.

“Working for him has really been an honor,” said Dr. D’Ana Waters, Assistant Superintendent of North Penn School District.
