As prices of homes in the region continue to skyrocket due to low inventory and high demand, some ZIP Codes are seeing properties going for well over their asking price, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In fact, three Montgomery County ZIP Codes are among the 15 places in the Philadelphia region where homes are selling the most over their asking price.

ZIP Code 19437, in Gwynedd Valley, took first place on the list with an average of 16.3 percent above asking. The ZIP Code has the median list price of $1,000,000 and a median closing price of $1,162,500, with ten homes sold last year. The average household income in Gwynedd Valley is around $133,000.

Next is ZIP Code 19041, in Haverford, in No. 14. With a median list price of $850,000 and median close price of $875,000, homes sold for an average of 2.9 percent over asking.

The list is rounded out with ZIP Code 18054, in Green Lane, is in the No. 15 spot. Last year, homes sold at an average of $349,000, which is 2.6 percent over the median list price of $340,000.
