Gas Prices Are Going Down Slowly, But Many Montco Drivers Are Not Even Noticing

By

Gas prices have started to fall slowly in the region but for many drivers in Montgomery County and the surrounding counties, the change is too small to even be noticeable, writes Corey Davis for 6abc.

One driver mentioned they didn’t even notice.

“A few cents a gallon doesn’t make a difference,” Tim Donney of King of Prussia said.

Meanwhile others have a few tricks up their sleeve to help them better deal with the high prices. “Utilizing gas stations that use gas points definitely helps in mitigating the price,” said Steve Maisonet of Phoenixville.

Earlier in the month, President Joe Biden ordered the release of 1 million oil barrels per day from the country’s backup petroleum supply for six months. The aim is to control energy prices that have skyrocketed following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Biden has suggested that the move could bring prices down by anywhere from 10 to 35 cents a gallon, but he said it is hard to know for sure.

At this point, all drivers can hope for is that the prices to continue to fall.
