Lower Merion Grad, a Rising Star in the Music Industry, Releases New Song with Grammy-Award Winner
Lizzy McAlpine, a Lower Merrion High School graduate, has unveiled the song hate to be lame featuring Grammy-Award winner FINNEAS from her new album, five seconds flat, writes Michael Major for the Broadway World.
McAlpine has previously released several singles from the album, including erase me, doomsday, all mu ghosts, and reckless driving, all of which continue to receive great reviews. The singer also received praise from Teen Vogue, which declared “The Philadelphia-based songstress charges on the dark, mid-tempo track.”
The rising artist recently had her U.S. television debut on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which she followed up with an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
On her latest album, McAlpine goes in a bold new direction, using evocative lyrics to create a story arc about heartbreak.
“I want to give my fans something different with each record, because I’m different each record,” said McAlpine. “I want to always be growing and moving forward as an artist.”
McAlpine first gained recognition when she started to share her songs and covers on Soundcloud and YouTube. She released her debut album, Give Me a Minute in 2020, chronicling the start and the end of a relationship.
