There are many great distilleries in the Philadelphia region, but some of them stand out not just by the quality of their drinks but also by doing good in their communities, writes Irene Levy Baker for The Philadelphia Citizen.

Boardroom Spirits in Lansdale and Five Saints Distilling in Norristown are among them.

Boardroom Spirits is a family-owned distillery best known for its vodka, gin, bourbon, and ready-to-drink bottled cocktails.

The distillery often hosts events in its tasting room for local nonprofits, such as for the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. It has also donated a portion of proceeds from several of its new drink launch days to Fire Bear to Dog Town Rescue and Stray Cat Blues.

Meanwhile, Five Saints Distilling is an award-winning micro-distillery that produces small-batch, hand-crafted spirits such as vodka, white whiskey, and savory Tuscan-style gin, among many others.

The distillery made hand sanitizers for first responders at the start of the pandemic and has been supporting a local food drive honoring Lt. Patty Simons, a police officer who died of breast cancer, for the last seven years.
