A 67-acre estate in Gladwyne formerly owned by a Campbell Soup heir that was once listed at $24.5 million is being subdivided into five parcels to make it more attractive to buyers, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The plan seems to be working, as one parcel is already under contract while the remaining four are garnering interest, according to listing agent Lisa Yakulis of Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty.

The 1543 Monk Road estate has been on and off the market for the better part of the last decade, but the owner Bob Burch had been unable to find a buyer.

The Linden Hill property was owned for more than 50 years by the Dorrance family of Campbell’s Soup Company. Linden Hill’s very secluded grounds on the Main Line and well-manicured grounds and stone outbuildings bring to mind secluded and quaint villages.

The property collectively known as Linden Hill has changed configurations several times in that period, with the latest one calling for the creation of an area reminiscent of an “English village.”

The division now has five parcels: the 14,467-square-foot Normandy-style main house, the Farm Court portion of the property, and three vacant lots named Manor Farm, Dower House, and the Stables that can be used for single-home development.

Dower House is currently under contract.
