Two New Eateries Add Depth to the Montco Eating & Drinking Scene in 2022
The Philadelphia region is known for its amazing dining scene but even among such a wealth of restaurants some stand out for their delicious food, perfect drinks, and the memorable experience they provide, write Alex Tewfik, Jason Sheehan, and Regan Fletcher Stephens for Philadelphia Magazine.
Among the 50 best restaurants in the region, two are right here in Montgomery County.
Top Chef Nick Elmi and his partner Fia Berisha opened Lark in Bala Cynwyd in October, and the eatery has quickly grown into one of the local favorites.
Patrons get to enjoy the scenic outdoor patio that overlooks the Schuylkill River, friendly and professional service, and a plethora of delicious dishes, including the mouthwatering wide pillows of gnocco fritto served with silky ricotta and paper-thin prosciutto.
Meanwhile, in Elkins Park, DuBu – which got its name from the tofu that goes into its Korean soups and stews – offers a variety of comforting bowls of soondubu jjigae, made with soft tofu.
Other highlights include haemul pajeon with handmade dumplings in a broth that has been simmering for two days. The eatery also offers warm vibes and K-pop as background music to enjoy while you wait for your meal.
