One of the local hotspots in Montgomery County is Collegeville Bakery, which serves up delicious Italian cuisine every day of the week, reports Khiree Stewart for PHL17.

During Stewart’s visit, Collegeville Bakery’s owner Steve showed him how to cook up a breakfast pizza, fresh wood-oven baked wings, and how their various Girl Scout Cookie milkshakes are made.

Patricia and Steve decided to give back to the community, filling their dining room with toys for local kids at the holidays in 2021.

In a conversation with Steve, Stewart noted that while the bakery had been treating them excellently with food, the restaurant was also known for treating the community well in other ways.

“Last year due to COVID, we couldn’t have dining,” Steve said. “So Patricia and I decided to use the dining room to fill it with toys.”

Those toys went on to be donated to children and families in the community who could not afford toys for Christmas that year.

This year, the bakery is able to have dining, but the restaurant owns the vacant building next door and they decided to try to aim for the same goal this year as well.

By Christmas time, the building was filled with toys.

“It just really speaks volumes to what the community means to Collegeville Bakery, and to what Collegeville Bakery means to the community as well,” said Stewart.
