Building Homes for Heroes Gifts Pennsylvania Veteran Her Dream Home in Glenside
Last month, Building Homes for Heroes gifted Army Staff Sergeant Veronica Hally, a Pennsylvania veteran, her new dream home in Glenside, writes Lily Sun for The Epoch Times.
“It’s life-changing, and I’m eternally grateful,” said Hall.
The organization is gifting eleven homes in eleven weeks to wounded veterans, in honor of the twentieth anniversary of 9/11 and this year’s Veterans Day.
Veronica Hally, a single mother with three children, served in the army for 23 years before having to medically retire in 2019.
She served tours both in Iraq and Afghanistan, which left her with severe post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. She also suffers from several physical impairments, including tinnitus, carpal tunnel syndrome, and chronic lumbar strain.
She is rated 100 percent injured by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
She received many accolades, with the Army Commendation Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal chief among them. She was also named Special Agent of the Year.
“It’s gorgeous! Like a dream!” said Veronica Hally about the home. “And so it still feels so surreal. And the gratitude I feel in my heart is nothing that could ever be explained, and [I’m] eternally grateful.”
