Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Gives Back to Local Alma Mater with Gear, Pep Talk to Its Football Team

By

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sent a video message of encouragement to his local alma mater, Freedom High School in Bethlehem Township. A gift of sports gear accompanied the virtual pep talk, according to a 6abc report.

Johnson is a 1990 grad of Freedom High School. He went onto successful careers as a WWE champion and a film star; his latest release is The Jungle Cruise, a live-action adventure based on the Disney theme park ride.

In the surprise message, Johnson told the athletes: “I want to tell you how proud I am of you guys. I’m proud of the hard work you put in, because that’s what it all comes down to. Whether you win or lose, succeed or fail, it all comes down to the effort that you put in and the hard work you commit yourselves to.”

He told the team of a quote he heard when he was a 15-year-old sophomore at Freedom.

“The quote is this: “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice,'” Johnson said.

The inspiring words clearly juiced up the team.

After viewing it, the players defeated number-one ranked Allentown Central Catholic.
