Norristown Resident, Former Professional Baseball Player Develops Revolutionary Training Aid for Pitchers
Norristown resident and former professional baseball player Frank DiMichele — who, as The Pitching Pro, offers coaching services for players of any age and ability — has developed the VelCon Throwing Trainer.
The portable, easy-to-use device allows pitchers to incorporate correct mechanics without overusing their arm.
A revolutionary training aid that comes in three different sizes, the Trainer builds the muscle memory of the body’s kinetic chain to increase velocity, improve control, and reduce the risk of a major arm injury.
The VelCon Throwing Trainer is the result of DiMichele’s 35 years of experience as a player, coach, and researcher.
“I am often asked to endorse people and teaching devices,” said Brent Strom, the pitching coach for the Houston Astros. “I do so with the knowledge that my recommendation carries my reputation. As such, I have no trepidation doing so for Frank DiMichele. As a teacher who values ‘connection’ in the delivery, Frank knows what that looks like and has developed a teaching device that helps a pitcher feel it.”
Max Roberts, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft by the Seattle Mariners, said the more he used the V Trainer, the better he got.
“The device was an integral part of me being drafted,” said Roberts.
