Ten Air Studios creator Leslie Clearwater’s boho-chic accessories recently gained attention from both Vogue and Vanity Fair. Melissa Jacobs covered the sparking details of this Phoenixville artisan for Main Line Today.

Clearwater has been creating jewelry for two decades.

But she truly hit her stride after the pandemic shuttered her gallery.

“It was one of those closed doors that opened a bigger window,” said Clearwater. “It funneled my attention more fully into creation and ushered in an expansion of my work.”

To source her pieces, Clearwater has searched all around the world to find the most reputable and ethical lapidaries and mine owners.

“Now, I’ve developed trustworthy connections both abroad — some of my favorites are in Indonesia and India — and here in the U.S., particularly out west,” she said.

The main advice she offers to people who are looking to buy jewelry online is to create a relationship with the artist.

“It adds a whole new dimension to jewelry to know who made it, how it was made, and what the stones represent,” she explained. “It’s like farm-to-table dining — it enhances your consumption experience and lends more meaning to your collection.”
