Montgomery County residents and visitors are invited to experience Halloween-themed events at Pennypacker Mills this fall.

Charles Adams, III Ghost Stories

Saturday, October 2 from 3:13 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Hear ghostly tales and spooky stories told by Charles Adams III, known around the world as a collector of the paranormal. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Adams is a speaker at many paranormal conventions.

He has also appeared on The History Channel’s “Haunted America: Philadelphia” program and has served as a consultant and on-air expert for programs on hauntings and ghosts.

Bring along a chair or blanket to sit on the lawn as Charles Adams spins his spooky tales from the mansion porch! The mansion will open for free guided tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last tour at 3 p.m. Please call the site at (610) 287-9349 to reserve a time for your tour.

4th Annual Haunted Campground Hayride

Join us for our 4th Annual Haunted Campground Hayride in the park! Enjoy a hayride through our spooktacular and creepy campground. Festive crafts and tasty snacks will be offered at this family-friendly event. This event is free and suitable for all ages. No pre-registration is needed.

All Hallows Eve Fall Festival

The family-friendly All Hallows Eve Fall Festival returns for all ages to get into the Halloween spirit. Kids can paint a pumpkin and make vintage-inspired fall crafts to take home.

Why not make apple cider using an old-fashioned press and shuck corn as farmers did back when Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker lived at the Mills?

Saturday, October 16 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Kids can jump in the hay pile, play bean bag toss, and the whole family can take a tractor-pulled hayride around the scenic meadow. It’s all great family fun, and best of all, it’s FREE! The Pennypacker mansion will be closed.

Enjoy a cup of fresh apple cider and some candy corn to satisfy your thirst and sweet tooth.

Did you know that candy corn was invented in the 1880s and is associated with autumn because of corn’s link to the fall harvest?

There is always history in everything at Pennypacker Mills.

This historic site is open year-round for free guided tours of the home of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker and his family. Known for its collection of 18th and 19th-century decorative arts, furnishings, personal and official documents, the story of this famous Pennsylvania family reflects the lives of those who lived in Montgomery County in the early 1900’s.

Pennypacker Mills is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., with the last tour at 3 p.m. each day. The site is closed on Mondays and county holidays. Tours take approximately one hour and are free, with a suggested donation of $2 per person.

Pennypacker Mills is operated by the Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites. Pennypacker Mills is located off Route 73 (Skippack Pike) at 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473.

Montgomery County recommends that masks be worn outdoors by all individuals at County parks and historic sites during events with crowds. COVID-19 mitigation measures are subject to change, visitors should call the site or check the Pennypacker Mills website for updates.
