Expressive Path, a partner of The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth, and the Elmwood Park Zoo will present Art in the Park at Elmwood Park Zoo on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 6 p.m.

The afternoon will feature live music from Former Strangers, Division of Power, Expressive Path House Band, Hindsight, Norristown Area High School Drumline, N-Town Step, as well as Expressive Path students.

Enjoy art vendors, boutiques, games, raffles, and a beer garden.

Get creative with canvas painting, face painting, and tie dye-making.

There is a playground, games, and a Norristown Fire Truck for the kids.

There will also be a special visit from your beloved Star Wars characters and a 911 tribute to Norristown Fire and Police Departments. The festival is supported by funding provided through the PNC Arts Alive initiative.

“Expressive Path is excited to bring our Annual Arts & Music Festival inside Elmwood Park Zoo for the first time,” said Pamela Martin, Executive Director and Founder of Expressive Path. “Expressive Path has strived to bring family cultural events and opportunities to the public during a time where we all need a lift.

“Arts and music inspire us when we need it the most. This is what we do daily with our students—inspire, connect, motivate, and educate. We are honored to receive support through PNC Arts Alive!”

Joe Meterchick, PNC regional president for Philadelphia, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey commented that, “We’ve long recognized just how vital the arts and cultural sector is to our community.

The PNC team is once again excited to support the arts and cultural organizations in the Delaware Valley. The arts and culture strengthen the local economy and have the power to bring people together. Now, as we look forward to resuming everyday activities, we invite our neighbors to join us and be a part of art.”

Proceeds raised from Art in the Park benefit Expressive Path. Expressive Path is a 90% mobile non-profit organization that provides free creative art and music workshops for teens that would not have otherwise had the chance.

They give their students the opportunity to showcase their talents through workshops, exhibitions, and performances. You can become a sponsor by going to www.expressivepath.org and clicking the donate button on their homepage.

There will be free admission for 19401 residents all day.

Reduced admission for all other attendees from 2 to 5 p.m., and free admission for all from 5 to 6 p.m. A donation jar will be at the zoo’s front gate to support Expressive Path.

Elmwood Park Zoo fosters an appreciation for wildlife and the environment that inspires active participation in conservation. Learn more at elmwoodparkzoo.org.
