Expressive Path students at Norristown Area High School, Art Teacher Sue Guido, and Pamela Martin, Executive Director of Expressive Path, recently accepted a $15,000 donation from Ambler Savings Bank.

The donation, made through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, will be used to provide free creative arts workshops at local schools, centers, and shelters to teens between the ages of 12 and 19.

Expressive Path is a 90% mobile organization that provides creative art workshops at the Norristown Area High School, Eisenhower School of Technology and Leadership Academy, Montgomery County Youth Center, Anderson School, and Roosevelt Campus of Norristown Area High School.  Expressive Path also provides workshops for local non-profits such as ACLAMO and the Lincoln Center for Family and Youth. Expressive Path creates opportunities for these students to showcase their talents in the community through performance and art exhibitions.

“In 2018, Expressive Path was able to serve approximately 500 students,” said Ms. Martin. “Due to budget cuts in the arts, teens need art and music programs more now than ever. We are so thankful to have the support from Ambler Savings Bank. With their donation, our organization can continue to grow and help our local teens stay on the right track!”

“I volunteer my time with Expressive Path as a member of their Advisory Council,” said Leann Pettit, Marketing Specialist at Ambler Savings Bank. “I’m honored that Ambler Savings Bank sees the value in providing art workshops and self-expression opportunities to at-risk teens in Montgomery County as much as I do. This donation will help to inspire so many more students.”
