Norristown Mom Reunites with Six Children After Battling COVID-19 for Nearly Four Months at Rehab Hospital

Dana Vetter, a Norristown mother of six, has finally been able to reunite with her children at home after battling COVID-19 for nearly four months in Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, writes Rich Lacovara for 6abc.

The 44-year-old Vetter was able to walk to her eagerly waiting family under her own power last Friday.

It was a huge accomplishment for a woman who was admitted to the hospital in Malvern, in May and spent several weeks on a ventilator.

“I went through a lot, from a coma to a ventilator, to a tracheotomy, to heart-stopping a couple of times,” said Vetter.

Now safely at home, she has only words of praise for the rehab hospital’s staff.

“You come close to the people that take care of you,” she said. “They did an amazing job. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

She will still require therapy at home, but her family is convinced that she will be 100-percent in no time.
