Hakim Jones, a Norristown native, is a City Councilman for the Municipality of Norristown as well as a Youth Workforce Career Counselor for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

Hakim’s proudest professional accomplishment is managing the Montgomery County Youth Empowerment Program earlier in his career. “The youth workforce program successfully reached thousands of youth and families throughout the entire county,” he says. “It’s most rewarding to see former participants who are now adults doing well in life. They are working, raising their own families, and accomplishing great things here in Montgomery County and throughout the region.”

Just like those Hakim has helped, many have helped him. “The village who has helped me along my journey. Many mentors, community elders, colleagues, former educators and coaches,” he shares.

Hakim Jones loves the location of Montgomery County. “Our many unique townships all have something different to offer. I love our diversity, food, shopping, industry, parks, and trails easy roads to navigate from day to day,” he says. “I’m a foodie who frequents places all over the county. I have too many to name, but I would say anywhere with great wings, large TVs, and a good craft beer selection. The King of Prussia Town Center is a beautiful indoor/outdoor venue that I enjoy.”
