David Shade grew up in Sellersville and has spent his time in various towns in Bucks County. He then joined the Army where he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Then, while serving a tour in Afghanistan, he was awarded The Purple Heart.
He started his own company called At Attention Dog Training, which spans across PA counties where dog owners can attend classes or watch classes online to better train their dogs. This ensures both pets and pet parents are anxiety-free and learning the best ways to learn and grow.
David had a Section Sergeant named Matthew Moates while he was in the Army, and credits him for the biggest impact on his life. “He was one of the best leaders I had ever worked under,” David says. “I learned many valuable lessons about leadership from him that I utilize in my companies today.”
David Shade was also a speaker for a Tedx Talk in 2019 where he shared my Army experiences and discussed how dogs and veterans can save each other.
“My life was saved by a dog. If I can do right by that and help and save as many dogs as I can, then I will,” David explained. “Every dog I help train, every owner and family that I work with— if I am bringing a dog to a happy home and keeping that dog out of a shelter, then that is one more dog that I made a difference to.”
“I love Montgomery County because of the diversity. We aren’t a city like Philadelphia, but we aren’t in a rural area.,” David notes. “Having access to everything that I need being close is great, but it is less crowded than living in a city. I think it’s a perfect little suburban area.”
A variety of sponsorship opportunities for the MONTCO Millennial Superstars event in August are available.
