After running restaurants at several high-profile casinos in Atlantic City, Anthony DePaul decided to increase the stakes by opening his own establishment, DePaul’s Table in Ardmore, writes Katie Kohler for Play Pennsylvania.

After nearly two decades working at casinos, DePaul was well prepared for his own adventure.

“Working in a casino taught me organization and preparation,” he said. “Know your profit-and-loss, know your labor and food costs, inventory, and scheduling. Those skills teach you how to run a business.”

His decision to open a restaurant was centered around his family.

DePaul got married and has four sons. He realized that being married and having young children while working in a casino was not a life he could sustain for much longer. So when the opportunity presented itself to open his own place, he turned to his family for guidance.

Today, he considers family to be the heart of DePaul’s Table.

“DePaul’s Table represents family, friends, guests, great food, well-made drinks, and good times,” he said. “I wanted to create a place I would be proud of and that I could see my own family enjoying.”
