Schwenksville Woman Creates Custom Tent Company That Turn Themed Sleepovers Into Special Events
Allison Kozej, a Schwenksville mom who previously worked in finance, has started Dream Hutz, a company that makes custom-themed tents that turn themed sleepovers into special events, writes Alicia Vitarelli for 6abc.
Her tents help children feel special while celebrating in more intimate gatherings with siblings or family.
“I think that people really still want to do something special for their kids, but it’s so hard right now with not being able to do the big parties,” said Kozej.
Some have even skipped having a party completely last year due to COVID-19, making their parents even more eager to make this year more special.
Kozej was inspired by the forts her kids love to make. Among the themes she uses are unicorns, superheroes, and Harry Potter.
Kozej was present for some of the surprises and admitted she was overwhelmed at how much kids have been missing this kind of joy with Themed sleepovers.
“One little girl started crying because she was so happy and excited, which made me cry, of course,” she said. “It’s so much more than I thought it would be when I started the business. It has brought so much excitement and magic to the kids during this really tough year.”
