naBrasa Brazilian Steakhouse in Horsham is continuing to delight customers for the twelfth year with rodizio, the eatery’s signature interactive dining experience, writes Frank Quattrone for the Bucks County Magazine.

According to Rui Lucas, co-owner and longtime face of the restaurant, rodizio originated in the eighteenth century on the pampas of southern Brazil and Argentina.

Cowboys who were transporting herds of cattle over huge distances would slaughter a steer when hungry and rotate the meat on their swords over an open fire.

The eatery’s rodizio is a modified recreation of this tradition, but with many more choices offered to patrons than were available back in the day.

At naBrasa – which means cooking over hot coals in Portuguese – masked servers dressed like gauchos carve the patron’s meats tableside directly on their plate.

In addition to the meats and other main meals, the restaurant offers an unlimited salad bar with a wide array of freshly prepared hot and cold items. These range from American comfort food to authentic couscous to Brazilian rice and beans.

There are also plenty of sweets to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth, including a delicious Crème Brulee.
