Wynnewood-based Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Assists Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Donate Thousands to Boy Battling Cancer

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has donated $30,000 to a Chester County family with a seven-year-old boy who is battling cancer, writes Dave Zangaro for NBC10.

Hurts reached out to Wynnewood-based Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, wanting to get involved. The Foundation connected him with Erick, whose family, which includes four younger siblings, has been living in a two-bedroom trailer.

The quarterback visited the family to play with Erick and present it with a $30,000 check to help with getting a new house.

During the visit, he played catch outside with Erick. He also received a drawing from the boy that he said he would pin in his locker.

“A moment like that for me, just going in there and meeting everybody, it was fun,” said Hurts. “I think what amazes me is how the kids don’t even realize maybe what they’re dealing with, the circumstances they’re in, but they’re just happy to be living.”
