See If Your Town Made the List of American Towns Rated Best to Raise a Family
Four Montgomery County places are among the best small towns to raise a family in the nation, with Penn Wynne included in the top three, according to a new ranking published by Stacker.
Stacker compiled the list based on 2020 data from Niche. The factors considered include public schools, jobs, and cost of living, among many others. Only towns with a population under 40,000 were considered.
Penn Wynne, the tiny hamlet nestled in Montgomery County’s southwest corner near Lankenau Hospital, ranked third in the nation and second in Pennsylvania (Chesterbrook in Chester County landed the top spot on the list).
The town boasts a civic association that is a major volunteer force, along with Penn Wynne Green that works towards ensuring an optimal green community.
Meanwhile Ardmore at No. 18 has many highlights including several parks, a train station, and the suburban square that is a gathering spot for residents for shopping and free events.
Narberth is next at No. 29. It also has a train station that provides easy access to Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Barnes Arboretum is a favorite site for local nature lovers.
Finally, Blue Bell is at No. 78. Among its features is the still operating Inn that once hosted George Washington.
