MONTCO Teen’s Christmas Song That Perfectly Fits 2020’s Holiday Mood Goes Viral

By

A fifteen-year-old girl from Meadowbrook who goes by the stage name WALLIS has managed to create a new Christmas song and accompanying video that perfectly fits 2020 – and people are taking notice, writes Victor Fiorillo for the Philadelphia Magazine.

As of this writing, the song has amassed nearly 300,000 views on YouTube and the number keeps climbing, which has surprised and delighted the young artist.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this,” said WALLIS. “My friends are texting me all day long. I’m thankful.”

As its name suggests, Lonely Christmas is not the usual, cheery Christmas tune. It was made to reflect what a holiday when we cannot see our family or friends feels like for so many people.

Still, the young songwriter wants people to find more than sadness in her song.

“I want them to find hope in it as well,” said WALLIS, who attends the Center for Performing and Fine Arts in West Chester.

“Yes, these are the hardest moments. But it’s not permanent. It’s going to be OK. As I sing in the song: It’s alright. We’re just stuck at a red light.”
