Elmwood Park Zoo Transformed into a Winter Wonderland with Wild Lights Event

By

After its 2018 debut, Elmwood Park Zoo’s popular event, Wild Lights, has quickly become a highly anticipated annual celebration for families in the Philadelphia area, and has returned for a third year.

Wild Lights transforms the zoo into a bright winter wonderland, with thousands of lights adorning the trees, exhibits and buildings throughout its 16 acres.

In addition to all-new light installations and holiday decorations, each night of Wild Lights will feature additional entertainment and attractions, such as unique animal encounters, live performances, holiday music, photos with Santa, carousel rides and more.

“We’re very excited to be able to host Wild Lights this year. We know that there aren’t as many options for the folks that are seeking holiday entertainment,” said Al Zone, Elmwood Park Zoo’s Executive Director and CEO.

The zoo will be maintaining the same COVID-19 safety measures that it has had in place since the zoo’s reopening last summer, including timed admission tickets to manage park capacity, masks, and social distancing.

“We feel that with our outdoor location, along with our policies such as mask wearing and social distancing, we can provide a fun and safe environment for everyone to enjoy,” said Zone.

The evening events are scheduled for 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on select dates, beginning Nov. 20, and running through Dec. 30.

Tickets are on sale now. Admission is $12.95 for adults and children. Yearly Zoo Members can purchase Wild Lights tickets for $10.95. Children ages 0 to 2 years old are free.
