It is no secret that running for political office is a pricy endeavor, especially when it is at the national level, writes Amy Lamare for the Celebrity Net Worth.

To help their selected candidates reach their goal, a number of very wealthy people donate to various political campaigns on a regular basis, and Jeffrey Yass is definitely one of them.

In fact, the managing director and one of the five founders of Bala Cynwyd-based Susquehanna International Group is one of the ten biggest political donors in the nation.

Yass, who is an options trader, lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife Janine. Together, the pair have so far donated $25.3 million, all of it to Republican candidates.

Not only that, but in addition to being a major donor to the political causes he champions, Yass is also on the board of directors of the libertarian think tank Cato Institute, based in Washington DC.
