The Audubon Loop Trail
2.5 Miles

The Audubon Loop Trail is an excellent trail for an easy weekend hike. This paved trail takes you through the home of author and wildlife artist John James Audubon and Lower Perkiomen Valley Park. There are a few steep sections along the trail, but easily manageable. If you are looking to extend your hike, the Audubon Loop Trail also connects to the Schuylkill River Trail and the Perkiomen Trail to form a 6-mile loop. Make sure to look for birds, deer, ducks and other animals on your journey!

Joseph Plumb Martin Trail in Valley Forge National Historical Park
5-mile inner loop

The Joseph Plumb Martin Trail is the perfect hike for history buffs! Named for the Continental Soldier who camped at Valley Forge, this trail connects a number of the park’s historic sites, including the National Memorial Arch. While this trail is paved, some sections are hilly and generally not shaded. The trail is easily accessible from the main visitor center parking lot. If you are looking for a bigger challenge, this trail connects to several other park trails.
