Montgomery County has the fourth-highest self-response rate for the 2020 Census in Pennsylvania with 76.5 percent of residents having already filled out and submitted their forms, writes Jesse Musto for The Morning Call.
Out of that number, 68 percent of respondents have returned their completed forms through the internet. This switch from traditional methods further highlights the growing trend towards using an electronic format over more traditional methods which should help reduce both the time and costs involved.
Now with nearly a month left to go, Montgomery County has already surpassed its self-response rate for the 2010 Census that stubbornly remained at 75.5 percent.
Statewide, the counties in southeastern Pennsylvania – with the exception of Philadelphia – have had some of the highest rates. Meanwhile, the counties in northern and northeastern Pennsylvania have mostly received low response rates.
The county with the highest response rate is Bucks at 77.5 percent.
Overall, Pennsylvania ranks eighteenth nationwide with a self-response rate of 67.8 percent, which is just above the national average of 65 percent.
