Montgomery County August 17th COVID-19 Update: No New deaths But 7-day Case Count Continues Upward Trend

Based on the information found on the county’s COVID-19 website, here is a snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County.

Since the last update Thursday afternoon, Montgomery County reported 44 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Friday afternoon.

As of Friday afternoon, Montgomery County reported 299 new coronavirus infections, an increase of 52 cases reported over the previous seven days.

Over the last 14 days, 546 news cases were reported, 120 fewer cases than were reported during the previous 14 day period.

The 44 new positive cases reported Friday afternoon pushed the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County to 10,146 countywide.

Of the 10,146 COVID cases, 5,344 are females and 4,745 are males.

The average age of individuals with COVID-19 across the county rose to 52.6 years-old from 49.2 the previous day.

The County’s COVID-19 death toll remain unchanged at 823.

COVID-19 Testing

Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

Pottstown – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 364 King Street. Testing is available:Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lansdale – 421 Main Street. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Willow Grove – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 102 York Road (this site will be moving). Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Green Lane – Deep Creek and Snyder Road. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Ardmore – 114 W. Lancaster Ave. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Norristown – Delaware Valley Community Health Center at the Norristown Regional Health Center at 1401 Dekalb Street.

COVID-19 contact tracing efforts are ongoing and are critical to slowing the spread of the disease. The County has partnered with ACLAMO, Family Services of Montgomery County, Montgomery County OIC, and Visiting Nurses Association Community Services to help with contact tracing efforts.

Individuals who have been tested or identified as a direct contact of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has received a call from any of our community partners may return the call to 610.278.5923 to find out their results or status. All information discussed on the call is strictly confidential and is only used to trace COVID-19 cases.
