Customer Geographic Diversity Means Blue Bell-Based Unisys Is Seeing Some of Its Revenue Bounce Back
With customers in over 90 countries and operations in more than 40, Blue Bell-based Unisys is already starting to see positive trends in its revenue streams following the COVID-19-caused slump, writes Michelle Caffrey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The company receives nearly half of its revenue from countries outside of North and Latin America. These areas have rebounded better from the pandemic and have been providing the company with improved activity.
“This is an area where we’re benefited by the fact we have this [geographic] diversity,” said Peter Altabef, CEO of Unisys. “We love that we’re a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based company, but we are also very much a global company. This is a situation where having half of your revenue outside of America is helpful to you.”
The company is currently re-evaluating its entire real estate portfolio, as the pandemic forced most of its employees to work from home. This is an option that will now in some way become a permanent part of Unisys’ operations.
“It’s definitely a location-by-location analysis, and looking at it with a traditional ROI viewpoint,” said Altabef.
