Blue Bell-based Unisys secures $25 million contract with Georgia

Unisys Corp., with strong and long roots in Blue Bell, is adding a bit of Southern charm to its work as it has secured a contract with the state of Georgia for $25 million.

The local company was tagged to implement a simpler sign-in process for the state’s 47,000 users, stretching across 14 government agencies. This will allow those users a single-sign in step giving them access to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Skype, writes Michelle Caffrey in the

The state agencies that will use this simplified process, which kicks in Jan. 1 and spans five years, by Unisys weren’t disclosed. Last year Unisys announced that it secured a contract with George Technology Authority for $219 million to provide secure hybrid cloud services.

“This expansion of Unisys’ work with the State of Georgia builds on the work we are doing to help the state serve its citizens securely and efficiently,” Michael Morrison, vice president and general manager for Unisys in the United States and Canada, said in a statement. “In addition to giving state workers access to new cloud-based email and collaboration tools, we will enhance security through improved identity management and single sign-on capabilities.”
