Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board and the Montgomery County Planning Commission have announced the second tour of the Bike Montco Series, which takes the Bridgeport Hills Will Test Your Cycling Skills route.

This second tour focuses on the tightknit borough community with an industrial past and steep hillsides on the southern banks of Schuylkill River. With 4,600 residents spread over just 0.8-square-miles, the town has a lot to offer for sightseeing.

The Bridgeport tour runs for 6.6 miles. It begins on the river at Upper Merion Boathouse Park, winds through the borough then climbs more than 220 feet for the view at Bridgeport Memorial Park.

Finally it travels along quiet residential streets to Norristown High Speed Line DeKalb Street Station.

Additionally the nearby Schuylkill River Trail can be added to the tour.

Cyclists also get the chance to enjoy some great drinks and food at popular local spots. These include Workhorse Brewing Company, Taphouse 23, Puddlers Kitchen & Tap by Conshohocken Brewing, Frosty Falls, and Suzy Jo Donuts.

Finally to minimize exposure to heavier traffic, the trip avoids major highways and most arterial streets. The Bridgeport tour is recommended for fit cyclists who are not afraid of hills or steep declines.
