The building boom in Conshohocken is not showing any signs of slowing down with another developer breaking ground on a new 304-unit apartment complex, writes Katie Park for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 450,000-square-foot project is being constructed by Berwyn-based Lcor near the SEPTA train station to give future tenants easy access to public transportation. It joins the growing boom of commercial and residential properties in the one-square-mile borough bordering the Schuylkill River.

“With its growing employment opportunities and close proximity to Philadelphia’s city center, Conshohocken is a thriving economy to which we’re eager to contribute,” said Peter DiLullo, LCOR’s principal and senior vice president.

The new project is one of the biggest projects currently underway in Conshohocken, with the largest being the $325 million SORA West being developed by Keystone Property Group.

The anchor for SORA West will be a 12-story, 427,000-square-foot office building that will become the headquarters for AmerisourceBergen when completed. The building will also be surrounded by a 1,500-space parking garage and a 165-room hotel with a restaurant.

Additionally as part of the project, the developer will convert the nearby 139-year-old Conshohocken Firehouse into a gastropub.
