Second Saturday Offering Free Virtual Divorce Workshop

By

Divorce and Family Law Attorney Cynthia Weiss Stein of the Blue Bell law firm Shemtob Draganosky Taylor, PC, is teaming up with Tim Seiders, a financial planner in Worcester Township to present a free virtual divorce workshop for women of central Montgomery County on Saturday May 9th as part of the Second Saturday Divorce Information Workshop for Women series.

Mr. Seiders and Ms. Stein also hosted a free virtual workshop in April.

Mr. Seiders has been hosting in-person Second Saturday Divorce Workshops at the Blue Bell campus of the Montgomery County Community College since November 2014 but decided to temporarily shift the workshop to an online format due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Because many couples are struggling with job losses and investment hits, Mr. Seiders will be offering this virtual workshop for free.

“Second Saturday is a valuable resource for women considering divorce or already involved in divorce,” said Ms. Stein. “The program informs women about the nuts and bolts of the divorce process, and provides participants with knowledge, support, and trustworthy resources. I enjoy participating in these workshops that give women information and strategies to help them make the best decisions for themselves and for their families.”

The Second Saturday Virtual Divorce Workshop for Women will address a variety of divorce topics, including:

  • Litigation vs. meditation vs. collaborative divorce
  • Child custody and child support
  • Spousal support and alimony
  • Property division, including addressing ownership of the home
  • Planning for retirement after divorce

Each virtual workshop will end with a live Q&A session with Mr. Seiders and Ms. Stein where attendees can ask questions specific to their situation.

The virtual Second Saturday Workshop will be taking place Saturday, May 9th at 10:00 AM. Attendees interested in signing up for the complimentary workshop should call Tim Seiders at 215-699-6993 for online access information.

Second Saturday Divorce Workshop is a nationally recognized, nonprofit workshop designed to provide women (and in some locations men) with the legal, financial, and emotional information they need to effectively prepare for or avoid divorce. Second Saturday was founded by Candace Bahr and Ginita Wall in 1989 and has grown to cover over 120 locations in 25 states.

“We’ve been hosting divorce workshops for over 30 years,” co-founder Candace Bahr explained, “and we’ve never had to deal with anything like the coronavirus. However, divorce doesn’t stop due to a pandemic. By moving our workshops online, we want to continue providing men and women with the information they need to make the best decision for their marriage.”

“We do plan to transition back to in-person workshops as soon as we can do so in a safe way that follows local guidelines,” co-founder Ginita Wall added. “We invite all attendees of our virtual meetings to consider also attending our half-day in-person workshops when they become available again.”
