Suburban Jungle, a new service that just launched in Philadelphia, helps prospective homebuyers choose the suburb that is just right for them, writes Sandy Smith for the Philadelphia Magazine.

The free service pairs clients with a strategist who interviews them about their lifestyles, interests, and preferences. They also find out what the client would like in a community.

The first interview usually takes place online or over the phone.

“We give [prospective buyers] the information they want to know before they buy a home in a given suburb,” said Jodi Bloom, Suburban Jungle’s Philadelphia-area strategist.

Bloom grew up in Wynnewood before moving to New York, but decided to return to Main Line fifteen years later. She and all the people who work for Suburban Jungle live in the areas they advise clients on.

“As the strategist, I give them the macro view of the region’s towns and communities,” said Bloom, “what the commutes are like to Center City or the airport, where the walkable towns are, insights into the schools and school districts.”

Then the people who live in the town a client is interested in provide them with more detailed information.
