Montgomery County COVID-19 Sunday Morning Update – April 12th
Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Commissioner’s Saturday afternoon press release, here is quick snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County, the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.
As of 10:00 AM Saturday morning, Montgomery County reported 120 new COVID-19 cases, down from the 193 new cases reported Friday.
The new positive COVID-19 cases reported Friday are from 28 municipalities, none of which reported their first case.
A breakdown of Friday’s reported new positive cases follows:
- Age Range: 2 to 97 years-old
- Age Brackets: (3) 0 – 9, (1) 10 – 19, (11) 20 – 29, (16) 30 – 39, (21) 40 – 49, (16) 50 – 59, (12) 60 – 69, (17) 70 – 79, (14) 80 – 89, (9) 90 – 99, (0) 100 – 109, (0) 110 – 119
- Gender: 61 females, 59 males
The 120 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,815 countywide.
Of those 1,815 confirmed cases countywide, 856 are male, 928 are female.
The average age of individuals with COVID-19 is 51.4 years-old with the youngest patient being a 1-month-old baby and a 110 year-old Abington man, the oldest.
Sixtyone of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Of Montgomery County’s 61 municipalities, only one, Bryn Athyn Borough in the county’s southeast corner, reports zero cases of COVID-19.

Six new coronavirus related death of individuals ranging from 71 to 88 years-old were reported in Montgomery County on Saturday.
Nearly 40-percent (38.2%) of Montgomery County’s 68 COVID-19 deaths came from individuals living in two municipalities; Upper Gwynedd with 25 deaths and Springfield Township with 14.
The new deaths moves the County’s COVID-19 death toll to 68, 13.8-percent of the 494 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.
The County’s total number of reported cases represent 8.4-percent of the 21,665 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.
By comparison, as of noon Friday, with the exception of Philadelphia County with 6,022 COVID-19 cases, neighboring and surrounding counties all have fewer positive coronavirus cases than does Montgomery County:
