The coronavirus pandemic has introduced a raft of new challenges for regional employers. From implementing new emergency paid leave programs to assessing operations, many organizations find themselves in uncharted waters. The Human Capital Management (HCM) team at professional services firm RKL LLP has been on the front lines with employers, helping them protect their most valuable assets – their people.

Each week, as part of RKL’s coronavirus webinar series, HR Consultant Stephane Smith, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, walks attendees through the latest FAQs she and her team are receiving from clients as well as providing timely updates on new legislation. Click here to view webinar recordings.

The Human Capital Management team is publishing vital guidance on pressing HR topics to RKL’s Coronavirus Resource Center. Most recently, the team produced an Employer’s Payroll Cheat Sheet to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to help organizations turn understanding into action. In this post, RKL’s HR consultants support eligible employers (public sector and private with fewer than 500 employees, with a few exceptions) as they implement FFCRA’s emergency paid sick and family leave provisions, which took effect April 1 and run through December 31, 2020, and account for these costs as part of their payroll process.

In addition to these regulatory guidance and actionable updates, RKL’s Human Capital Management team offers a wide range of services to support employers and help them triage their critical needs, including outsourced HR support, organizational analysis, payroll processing, emergency response planning and more.

With decades of experience navigating complexities and developing solutions for people management, RKL is uniquely positioned to help your organization during these difficult times. Contact hrconsulting@rklcpa.com to start the conversation.
