During the first installment of Tourism Talks, hosted by Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board on Feb. 27 at The Venue at Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Montgomery County Commissioners got the chance to answer several county-related questions submitted by VFTCB staff and event attendees.

When asked about some of the unique things Montgomery County is known for, Commissioner Joe Gale responded that what makes the county special is that it has the best of everything.

“Ten percent of our acreages is farmland,” he said. “We have suburban settings but we also have agriculture.”

On the subject of King of Prussia rail, Chairman Dr. Valerie Arkoosh expressed her ongoing support for the project.

She explained that rail would make life much easier on commuters, create employment opportunities, and “remove an estimated 8 million vehicle miles off the road every year.”

On the subject of supporting the businesses in the area, Vice Chair Kenneth Lawrence said that workforce development is crucial.

“We’re very fortunate here in Montgomery County that we have a wonderful community college,” he said. “Our workforce development works very closely with them.”
