Commissioner Gale Points Small Business Owners Toward CareerLink, SBA Disaster Loan Program Webinar

Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale made the following statement at Wednesday afternoon’s COVID-19 press conference:

For the life sustaining businesses that are still open through this crisis and may need additional workers to meet heightened demands, there are workforce development programs and resources available to you.

CareerLink provides recruitment and online job posting assistance.  Through the CareerLink website, employers can find people who are available and looking for employment.

This may include health care workers, delivery drivers, and essential retail employees.

Additionally, funds are still available to help support on-the-job training for new employees as well as training for existing employees.

We realize that small business are suffering most from this pandemic and we are working on ways to bring them relief.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office is holding daily webinar training sessions on the Economic Industry Disaster Loan Program.

These webinars will help businesses understand:

    • who is eligible for a Small Business Administration Disaster loan,
    • what information you will need to prepare and file a disaster loan application, and
    • These webinars also include Question & Answer sessions devoted to answering questions that small business owners may have.

These Webinars began yesterday and will continue through Friday, April 3rd.

They are offered Monday through Friday and each webinar starts at Noon and concludes at 1:30pm.
