FXX network has released the first official trailer for “Dave,” the new comedy series from Cheltenham rapper-turned-actor Lil Dicky.

FXX network has released the first official trailer for “Dave,” the new comedy series from Cheltenham native Lil Dicky, writes Nick Vadala for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In the show that begins airing on March 4, the rapper-turned-actor – whose real name is Dave Burd, stars as a fictionalized version of himself trying to prove that he is a “once in a generation artist.”

The series was originally announced in 2018. It was co-created by Burd and Jeff Schaffer and will be executively produced by Kevin Hart under his HartBeat Productions banner.

Burd is best known in his musical career for hits like “Freaky Friday” and “Earth.” However, he has long been keen to enter another field of entertainment.

“I’m not just a comedian, but a rapper and a comedian,” said Burd several years ago. “In five years, I want you to know Dave Burd the on-screen talent just as much as Lil Dicky the rapper.”

The stars in the trailer include rapper YG and pop star Justin Bieber, who Burd met at the start of his career in mid 2010s.
