Sweet Aloha Bowls in Royersford offers a little taste of Hawaii throughout the entire year with bowls and plates filled with fell-good superfoods, writes Vittoria Woodill for CBS Philly.

The idea for the eatery came to Janeen Algeo while she was visiting Hawaii with her husband.

“The food was so life-changing to me because I would have a bowl in the morning and we would go hiking or snorkeling and I felt so awesome after eating the bowl,” said Algeo. “I didn’t feel bloated or heavy, like I didn’t have a crash. It just kept me going.”

Once the pair returned home, she first bought a blender and then a food truck. After a while, she turned her very successful food truck into a tropical brick and mortar establishment.

There, she packs the bowls, smoothies, salads, and other delicious offerings using inspiration from the islands she fell in love with. Her main goal is to provide her customers with something that is good for them.

“Everyone asks ‘what are you putting in this?’” she said, “and I’m like, ‘it’s just aloha. It’s really just love.”
